Have a Rice Day is a new movement to raise awareness and support for global hunger.

 

Just 3 simple steps needed to Have a Rice Day!

  1. Purchase and wear a Have a Rice Day Button on one of the seven internationally designated days. – buttons are just $5 ea.
  2. Substitute one of your regular meals that day for a simple bowl of rice.
  3. Learn about and share information about global hunger, raising awareness so more people will understand that they too can be part of helping to change hunger.

 

Why Get Involved?

  1. In so doing you are identifying with over one billion people in our world today who is hungry. That is nearly one in six of the human population living here on planet earth!
  2. Learning about global hunger is the first place to begin, but in order to practically help the people in need now, action is needed. By purchasing and wearing the seven collector buttons, you are contributing, in an affordable way, to assisting registered charitable organizations working to alleviate the suffering of hungry people around the world.
  3. Rice is the number one consumed food item in the world. Be sure to join with the millions who depend upon this healthy grain for their staple food and… have a rice day!

October 16 – WORLD FOOD DAY- because everyone has the right to food!
November 20 – UNIVERSAL CHILD’S DAY –Children need sufficient nutritious food to grow healthy bodies and develop their brains. Having enough food can help ensure a child’s education and for many prevent the occurrences of child labour or the sex trade.
December 10 – HUMAN RIGHTS DAY – Food is a basic human right!
March 22 – WORLD WATER DAY – You can’t grow food without water…especially rice which is the most consumed food item in the world!
April 7 – WORLD HEALTH DAY – Sufficient, nutritious food helps bodies fight off infections and diseases!
May 15 – INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE FAMILY – The ability to have enough food helps families stay together!
August 19 – WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY – A day for everyone who can to give a little towards helping those in need of the most basic requirement for life…FOOD!

Through the Rice Raiser Campaign individuals and groups collect food for local food banks and raise funds for global initiatives.
